PSBA can support project work for electrical power distribution systems for a wide variety of facilities. Our staff has experience as the primary responsible design contact for both new facility lighting and power systems design, as well as significant experience in providing technical support in "team" and matrixed project environments.

We have provided the complete evaluation and design of electrical systems for many Architectural building projects as well as stand-alone electrical power systems projects. Electrical power evaluation and design projects have included the study of multi-building educational facility distribution systems to provide maintenance and upgrade recommendations, design of backup/standby generator systems for essential and non-emergency systems, and design of permanent electrical installations for standby portable power generator temporary connections to satisfy "Y2K" concerns in a public utility facility

We understand the sensitivity for unbiased third-party evaluations of energy systems as the electrical utility industry moves towards de-regulation, and have the experience and capacity to work with both the customer and the energy supplier to find solutions that are both technically and politically acceptable.

In keeping with our active pursuit to use the best available design tools we have implemented the use of  a variety of computer software tools in the evaluation of existing and design of new lighting systems. From developing a generic Zonal Cavity method spreadsheet that can be applied to any commercial facility to provide a rapid estimate of the number of fixtures required for IES recommended lighting levels, to developing the ability to incorporate the results of vendor lighting systems software iso-line lighting distribution plots into into CAD project drawings, PSBA can provide project documentation with the best available information.

As part of that design and evaluation work we continue to improve our capability to incorporate any vendors IES standardized lighting testing data using as many of the various lighting equipment vendor software tools as are available for our use. We have recently expanded our design services to local municipalities for bridges and roadways to include the design of roadway lighting using the tools required by the state DOT organizations.

We understand the necessity of building owners and operators to have adequate and accurate "as-built" information, and have the experience to develop such documentation in a variety of document formats for facilities involving multiple power distribution and communications technologies. We design, build, operate, and maintain our own local area network and look forward to providing our expertise and exchanging the results of our own "lessons learned" to clients with similar advancing technology needs.

Please feel free to examine the Standard Specifications for Electrical Construction that we have prepared and issued as part of projects in the last few years.
