Design of new buildings at Fort Riley, Kansas

Aircraft Crash/Rescue Station -

The new Aircraft Crash/Rescue Station is approximately 10,200 sq ft. It contains a large apparatus room to house three large trucks and related gear. There are spaces for offices, day room, physical training, watch/alarm room and other support spaces. It will be a "green" building (LEEDS). The Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system is suppported by an energy efficient geo-thermal design using the earth to provide or absorb the thermal energy required.

Base Operations Facility -

The new Base Operations Facility is approximately 9,100 sq ft. It contains spaces for flight planning, weather center, dispatch and numerous support offices. This is also a "green" building (LEEDS). It also uses a geo-thermal system for efficient HVAC operation.
